Why Google reviews are worth asking for

🔎 For many local searches, your Google listing is one of the first places a potential customer sees your business — often before they reach your website.
🗓 The moment passes. The customer who would happily write two sentences is out of the door and thinking about something else — and asking across the counter is awkward for both of you.
🔁 The people best placed to write one are your regulars. They are also the people Myndel already knows about, which is why the ask can be made at the right point instead of at random.

Your usual stamp. Myndel handles the ask.

1
The visit is stamped
You add the stamp the way you always do, one tap. Myndel counts the visit.
2
That stamp meets your rule
When the visit count reaches the point you chose — after 2, 3 or 5 visits, or on the first reward they earn — the request is prepared for that customer.
3
The ask is on their card
The next time they open their loyalty card, the request is there with one link to your Google review page. They tap it, write what they think, and that is the end of Myndel’s involvement.

There is no separate review email. The ask rides the card the customer already opens to be stamped — one polite request, on the surface they actually look at.

One panel, one link, one time

This is the panel itself, as it appears on the customer’s own card, in their language. Every eligible customer sees this one.

Four settings, and one of them is a link

Off until you switch it on
Google reviews are off for every new shop. No customer is asked anything until you turn the feature on in Settings → Growth.
Your Google review link
Open your business on Google Maps, choose “Ask for reviews”, and paste the link here. Myndel accepts Google addresses only.
When to ask
Three visits is the default: far enough in that the customer has an opinion worth writing down, close enough that they still remember the visit they are writing about.
  • 2 visits
  • 3 visits — recommended
  • 5 visits
  • First reward
Once per customer, ever
Each customer is asked once, and declining is permanent — Myndel never asks them again.

See what happens after the ask

Reached the threshold
Customers whose visit count has taken them past the rule you set.
Customers asked
Of those, the ones who have opened their card since and actually seen the panel.
Review pages opened
The ones who tapped through to Google.

Google does not tell anyone who left a review, so the last number counts customers who opened your review page — not reviews received. Myndel will never claim otherwise.

Honest reviews, not review gating

Every eligible customer gets the same panel and the same link. Myndel never asks whether the visit went well, never branches on the answer, and offers no setting that would let it.

Review gating and incentivised reviews are not supported, because the whole feature is built around a neutral request — which is what Google’s policy asks for, and the only version worth having.

  • No “did you enjoy your visit?” step, and no second destination for anyone who would have answered no.
  • No stamps, discounts or rewards in exchange for a review. Stamps are for visits.
  • No wording that leans towards five stars — the panel asks for an experience, not a good one.
  • No review collected, hosted or moderated by Myndel. What is written is between your customer and Google.

What the timing looks like in your trade

CafésRegulars come in weekly, so three visits is a fortnight. Ask early, while the habit is forming.
Salons and barbersFour to eight weeks between appointments is normal, so the request waits on the card until they next open it.
Massage and personal trainingThe first earned reward is often the better moment: somebody who has finished a course of sessions has something specific to say.

Loyalty cards for your trade:

Questions owners ask

When is a Google review request sent?

It is not sent as a separate message. When a stamp takes a customer past the rule you chose — 2, 3 or 5 visits, or their first earned reward — the request is prepared, and it appears on their loyalty card the next time they open it.

Does Myndel only ask happy customers?

No, and it cannot be made to. Everyone who reaches the point you set sees the same panel and the same link. There is no step that asks how the visit went, so there is nothing for Myndel to filter on.

Can I reward someone for leaving a review?

No. Stamps are for visits, and Myndel gives nothing for a review — it does not even know whether one was written. Offering an incentive for a review breaks Google’s policy.

Can I control how often customers are asked?

Each customer is asked once, and that is not adjustable. What you choose is how early: after 2, 3 or 5 visits, or on their first reward.

Does this work with my existing Google Business Profile?

Yes. Open your business on Google Maps, choose “Ask for reviews” and paste the link Google gives you into Myndel. Reviews land on the profile you already have — nothing is moved, copied or duplicated.

Do I need another review-management tool?

Not for this. Myndel makes the ask; the reviews themselves live on your Google profile, where you read and reply to them exactly as you do now.
